Specificity of Ethnic Identity of the Students of Ukrainian Danube Region

Abstract


The article is devoted to the results of theoretical study aimed at the analysis and refinement of the concept of "ethnic identity", studying the approaches of different authors to the interpretation of this phenomenon, describing the types of ethnic identity, revealing the psychological structure of self-consciousness. The article presents a study of manifestations'  peculiarities of ethnic identity in multicultural surrounding of ISUH students, as well as its prospects for the development of students’ psychology. The ethnic structure of Ukrainian Danube region is caused by the interaction of different ethnic groups (Bulgarians, Gagauz, Ukrainians, Russians, Armenians, Jews and others), which requires tolerant attitude to other nationalities. Such models of  identity of ethnic consciousness can be traced in the region:    as monoethnic identity, coinciding with official ethno-identity, biethnic identity, marginal identity, positive ethnic identity are traced.
